First weekend back in Dubai.....weather has changed a little! no RAIN......not overly warm but at least its dry.

Friday CJD took her mum on a road trip to Al Ain! A very nice place that you will recall we visited near the begining of the secondment. They spent the day driving round visiting sites of interest and on thier return showed me all the wears they had purchased.........

I decided as it was promised to be a FANTASTIC day, i would relax on the roof by the pool in the sun.....perfect way to catch up on the fatigue of travelling back.. YEAH RIGHT

It wasnt as warm as it appeared....there was a breeze off the sea that whipped round my roof top refuge and made it feel 3 or so degrees colder than it actually was.....only spent from 1100 to 1400 on the roof and decided, the balcony needs cleaning.........

remainder of the day was spent cleaning the windows and balcony while getting well needed rays on the old bod! CJD came back around 1800, and we just had a lazy night chilling in the flat!

Saturday CJD fully experienced the call to prayer when her tastful mosque alarm clock went off at 05:30 (slightly shadowing the real mosque out the back, also calling at 0530). She had booked to take her mum on a tour of the race course and museum at Dubai Racecourse. They had a fantastic time......and the photos prove what an amazing venue it is.

Not being into the G Gs, i cleaned the other side of the balcony so i could lay there with my book(Race to Dakar, by Charlie Boorman) and CJDs book 1001 arabian nights. IT WAS HOT!!!!

Returning around 12:30, they got a quick nap while i went for a swim, then it was all get togged up in the old glad rags, COS WE HAVE A DATE AT THE BURJ!!!!

yep! CJD booked us in for Afternoon tea at the Burj Al Arab, you will have to excuse the quantity of photos, but the place is amazing! So Bright and colourful, but very tasteful.....So much bigger than it looks from the outside and the views from the Sky Bar was spectacular! we spent a good 3 hours in there, eating out sandwiches and cake with silver ware, pouring tea with a strainer, commenting on the architechture! hahaha was a lovely afternoon!

Somehow we didnt feel ready to go back to the flat when we had finished. We drove to Mall of the Emirates to show CJDs mum the Ski slope...........GUESS WHAT!!!!!????? the Bear Factory was having a sale.....I just had to buy a bear........he is named DXB! answers on a post card if you know why!!!!! ;-)

then it was back to the flat......ready for work the next week!
