From the 9th onward we left KA to frequent the pool and top up her tan....each day getting browner and browner.......(note to self: must try factor four banana oil!!!!). CJD took an afternoon off so "Ma man" Jafaar could take them on a desert safari! he remembered when Ste and i booked and gave us VERY good discount......(means all our guests are set up for a cheap safari!).....they came back with photos and smiles....really enjoying it!!!
Thursday after work we had a works drink. a very good evening, meeting different people, and and a chance to get to know our colleagues. Unfortunatley not the best idea to go straight to the English Pub with an empty stomach!!!! OH WELL, everyone was in the same boat......
Friday soon arrived and this weekend was a single day weekend. Desperate to get our brown colour back we rushed to the beach (Al Mamza again) and this strange yellow warm thing was high in the sky. hadnt seen the sun for so long, we forgot what it was like!
THE BEACH WAS DESERTED! we were met by a breeze and after getting in bathing suits, we realised why the beach was deserted......the breeze was less than warm!!!! but like true brits, we sat there in the sun......chilling. The three of us made our way to the water.....but what a shock......it was pretty cold!!! KA went back to the towels and CJD and i went for a swim.....not letting a little cold water stop us, well.........we are in Dubai after all!!!! MY GOD IT WAS COLD!
only went in twice.......thought we would wait til the afternoon to let it heat up.....yeah right....equally icey!
Went back to the apartment early eve.......we had a department meal at a lebanese restaurant. was very nice. couldnt drink to much. detox from the night before, and mainly because we were back in work on Sat..............we were really in the Christmas Spirit!!!!! and Thursday was the day we Flew Home for Christmas!!! piccies to follow!
